NTT Security and Trend Micro signed MoU to accelerate comprehensive security measurement and utilize AI

NTT Security Holdings, Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Shinichi Yokohama; hereinafter referred to as NTT Security) and Trend Micro Incorporated (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Co-Founder and CEO: Eva Chen; hereinafter referred to as Trend Micro) have agreed to collaborate in developing comprehensive security measures to protect against sophisticated cyber attacks and crimes, which have become a concern since the spread of AI, and in developing security solutions that utilize AI.
Background
As the widespread use of AI is increasing, the number of cyber threats facing enterprises and individual users is also increasing. Recent cyber attacks have emerged that exploit AI, such as virtual kidnappings and money transfer fraud using deepfakes. The rapid evolution of AI technology has enabled attackers to easily launch sophisticated attacks using natural language, and these threats are expanding and transcend the barriers of language, culture, and cyber and physical space.
What can be achieved through partnerships
This partnership will hep to leverage the strengths of both companies, namely NTT Security’s outstanding security response capabilities and intelligence, and Trend Micro’s outstanding AI utilization technology and development capability, to create solutions against sophisticated threats.
